This two thousand year old coin minted in Calabria in southern Italy features the marvelous "Boy on a Dolphin", ("Horseman" on reverse). According to Greek Mythology the boy was Taras, son of the Sea God Poseiden, who is seen astride a dolphin sent by his father to rescue him from a ship wreck.
